7+ Taskbar Tweaker

7+ Taskbar Tweaker
7+ Taskbar Tweaker allows you to configure various aspects of the Windows taskbar.
Most of the configuration options it provides can’t be tweaked using the taskbar properties or the registry.
The tweaker is designed for Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 10.

FAQ

Q: Which registry keys does 7+ Taskbar Tweaker modify? I don’t need extra processes in my system.
A: The only registry keys the tweaker modifies are its own settings. There are no registry keys for the options it provides. The tweaker does that by injecting a DLL to explorer, hooking/subclassing/some other methods of the dark side.
As for extra processes, the tweaker is a native program, and is very lightweight. It shouldn’t slow down your system, and uses an extremely small amount of memory. Also, you can hide the tray icon if you want.

In case you want to remove the tweaker’s settings from the registry, look for them here:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\7 Taskbar Tweaker
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run (“7 Taskbar Tweaker” value)

P.S. if you’re a programmer, you might want to take a look at the 7+ Taskbar Tweaking Library.

Q: My antivirus complains about 7+ Taskbar Tweaker.
A: It’s a false positive. I guarantee that the tweaker binaries (and any other files on this site, unless specifically noted) are 100% clean.
Also remember that the tweaker injects into explorer and modifies its memory, which is indeed suspicious.

Q: Can I Group/Combine/Label only some of the items on the taskbar?
A: Yes, use Taskbar Inspector.

Q: May I use 7+ Taskbar Tweaker in a commercial environment?
A: Yes, feel free to use it wherever you want.

Q: Where is the portable version?
A: When installing the tweaker, choose the Portable type of install, as shown on the image below.
The portable version will be extracted to the selected folder.

Selecting the portable installation type

Note: If the tweaker is already installed on your computer, the option won’t be visible. You can launch the setup with the /portable command line switch to force a portable installation.

Q: I want to report a bug/suggest a feature! What is the best way to do it?
A: Post it on the UserEcho page.

Q: I want to translate 7+ Taskbar Tweaker to my language.
A: The archive below contains the files needed to be translated.
Please read readme.txt before proceeding.

How can I close this program with a batch file, I can’t seem to find the name of the task. (And my Admin prevents me from using Task Manager for some devilish reason)

    Hi, RaMMicHaeL.
I want to suggest you some extra feature.
I usually broadcast with computer, so volume mixer is essential feature.
So, what if scrolling mouse wheel when the cursor is hovering over each of program can control each of their volume?
I wish that I can meet this feature in next update.

    Best regards, K0.

Is it possible for you to implement right click option “Always on top” and “Minimize to tray” for right click menu for taskbar window (jump list or standard window menu).

I would prefer that my thumbnail previews, would behave like my taskbar buttons settings. I mean:
    1. “Drag within/between groups using right mouse button” – adding this feature also to thumbnail previews.
    2. I have advance settings in Advance Options for taskbaritem. I wanted this settings also for my thumbnail previews (like Close all group items, Terminate process etc). Maybe to add thumbnailpreviews to Advanced Options is the solution required.

I can’t get no_width_limit 1 to work with dual monitors for the second taskbar. It is almost like the second taskbar is a second program with even more limitations.

    • It is almost like the second taskbar is a second program with even more limitations.

That’s what it is. They share the task list component, but apart from that, they have separate implementations. That’s part of the reason as of why no_width_limit doesn’t work with secondary taskbars – It requires a different approach. I remember trying to implement it, but couldn’t find a simple solution and put it aside. I might get back to it one day, when I have some spare time.

Is there anywhere that you would recommend looking into? I’m not as good at programming as you are, and I know very little about how the .dll things work, but I’d still like to try.

    Hi,

After updating to 4.5.7, the Tweaker stopped working. The process seems to be active, but none of the features are, and the options window doesn’t show. The uninstaller is also unable to exit the process. Tried uninstalling with configuration clearing checked and installing fresh, it didn’t work.

I’m using Windows 7 Pro with a dual monitor setup. I also have Actual Multiple Monitors installed, but the Tweaker worked with it before.

I was forced to downgrade to 4.5.6, hope you fix it.

IMO users without admin rights shouldn’t be installing software, especially software that changes the behaviour of Windows itself.

If the user wants install software in a ‘non standard location’ because they don’t have sufficient rights to install it in the ‘standard location’ then they should nominate a location. I can’t imagine many such users would choose an obscure location such as “c:\users\\appdata\roaming\program name”.

Anyway its easy enough to change.

          RP

          • IMO users without admin rights shouldn’t be installing software, especially software that changes the behaviour of Windows itself.

I don’t agree. What if the user doesn’t have admin rights, but still wants to customize the taskbar? Also note that the customization only affects the user’s taskbar, and doesn’t affect the rest of the users.

If the user wants install software in a ‘non standard location’ because they don’t have sufficient rights to install it in the ‘standard location’ then they should nominate a location.

That’s an option, but I don’t see why it’s better than the current way.
Ideally, the installer would have two options: install for a single user, and install for all users. The second option would install into the Program Files folder. But it seems like not many users miss the second option, so I haven’t got around to implementing it.

            • RightPaddock says:

As I said “Anyway it’s [meaning location] easy enough to change.”

IMO leave it as is, functional improvements/fixes/compatibility should take priority.

Maybe when you have nothing to do (ha-ha) you could do an an MSI install with a feature selector;)

    Hey,

With recent update (Was on 4.5.6 before update) I can’t seem to get the following feature to work: ‘scroll your mouse wheel while holding the right mouse button to show/hide labels of the group under the mouse’. I have to use Taskbar Inspector to show/hide labels per app.

    Something I am missing?

Thanks and keep up the good work!

  14. GaryK says:

Is there a way to install TT quietly? I use it in an enterprise environment, and rather than install updates individually, I would like to launch the update via a login script, but I can’t because the install routine requires interactive response.

  15. GaryK says:

Thanks. That will work the first time, but thereafter a “Reinstall/Remove” dialog appears. The nature of a logon script is such that it runs each time the system logs on. You can’t guarantee that every system will logon every day, so you need to wait a few days, and already installed machines show the above dialog. What I need to know is if there’s a way to run the update silently regardless of whether its already been run on the machine.

    GaryK

    • I’m not seeing the behavior that you’re describing. I’ve just run 7tt_setup.exe /S twice in a row, and no “Reinstall/Remove” dialog appeared.
How can I reproduce the behavior you’re seeing?

  16. GaryK says:

Got it. The /S is case-sensitive. I first used /s. I had one of those flashes in the middle of the night.

All better now. Thanks for your help.

  18. Clemens says:

Dear Ram, that’s a really awesome piece of software you made! Thanks a lot for that plus sharing it, deserves in fact a donation…
I just would have one question: where is it saving it’s own configuration? Any [config].ini or registry entry there, which could be saved (and directly used) for further installations?
    Best regards

    • Hi Clemens,

7+ Taskbar Tweaker keeps its settings in the registry:
      HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\7 Taskbar Tweaker

There’s also a portable version (see FAQ), which keeps its settings in an .ini file in the main program folder.

      • Clemens says:

Very, very nice! Prefer the portable/ini option… although there is one option, which is still placed in the registry:

For “Run at startup” it says because of “running a portable version […] this option” will be written “to the registry”.

Do you think it would be possible to have in a next update this registry entry automatically created, whenever the case is given, while loading the settings of the ini, it finds inside this specific ‘Run-at-startup’-option as set to ‘1’?

Btw, where in the registry? 😉
        Greetings

        • Do you think it would be possible to have in a next update this registry entry automatically created, whenever the case is given, while loading the settings of the ini, it finds inside this specific ‘Run-at-startup’-option as set to ‘1’?

What’s the use case for this?
I don’t see how making the portable version quietly writing to the registry is a good idea. The fact that it’s portable means that it might not be there the next time you start your system, e.g. if it was run from a USB disk.

Btw, where in the registry? 😉

          HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

          • Clemens says:

Ah sure, the standard place for AutoRuns, redundant question…

However, the idea with the ‘Run-at-startup’ option in the ini is easy explained:
Although I understand your “portable”-argument I don’t see a reason, why this could be a disservice for anybody. For the one, who only want to use it as a ‘portable’ tool, there won’t be any motivation to set this option at all – fine (no change)!
But as soon as you want just have it on a specific system (mostly) always running (and prefering clean uninstalled software), you could also have an ini, where this option is set, and tada: you don’t have to take care about anything else then extracting and (re)placing the ini, simple & nice… So all options are up to the user, what your software makes so special nice already!
            What’ you think? 😉

            • you don’t have to take care about anything else then extracting and (re)placing the ini

Why does opening the settings and checking a checkbox make it much more complicated? It’s not like that’s something that a user does often.

              • Clemens says:

You’re very right… I just love to avoid annoying time to configure the system and all its software again from stretch after resetting one’s system. Furthermore this tool is something to share with other’s and letting them enjoy an “just extract/replace” configuration with nothing else would be just a nice service.
No big deal, just something to perfectionize the usability of your fine tool. Sure, if it’s against your ‘portable “philosophy”‘ – no problem at all! 8)

                • AnonAMouse says:

You could always export the registry key and place that .reg file with this tool’s portable setup.

Then run the reg file on a new pc to populate the missing registry entry.
(It will overwrite it if it’s already there.)

Then you can easily use the portable version.

Obviously this requires access to the registry, but it should make moving a portable install easier for you.

                  Note:
You only have to directly access the registry via regedit once to export a copy of the registry key in question, replacing on a similar pc (Win 7+) should then be as simple as a double click on the saved .reg and an ok dialogue.

You could also export all of the 7+ Taskbar Tweaker registry entries intoone .reg file and use that first instead of just the single autorun entry.

                  • Clemens says:

Thanks for that detailed comment. Well, yes, in fact that’s the way I do it, although a “only ini” solution would have been nice ;)…

  20. Kelly says:

Hi! I’m having some problem with the disable_topmost option, I have set it to 1. Whenever I click on show desktop, the taskbar will disappear. The taskbar disappears only on desktop, but is still there when on another window such as chrome. Any idea how to fix this problem?

    • Hi,

      That was already reported:
      http://tweaker.userecho.com/topic/604551-taskbar-hides-on-show-desktop-when-disable_topmost-is-enabled/

Unfortunately, I’m not aware of a proper fix for this. That’s the way the Show desktop is designed to work: every window which is not topmost gets hidden. The taskbar is a window, too, so that applies to it as well.

In Windows XP, you could choose to make the taskbar non-topmost, and it still worked, probably due to a special workaround. My guess is that when rewriting most of the code in Windows 7, the team decided that it’s not worth the complexity, and just removed the feature.

In the end, I believe that there’s some way to hack around it, but currently, I don’t plan to work on it.

  21. Tiago Silva says:

Hi, First of all thanks for the excelent program.

I have a suggestion to make.

Please add an option to decombine and stay that way when for instance double-click on a group. Then it would only combine again when double click on an item of the same group.

This is usefull for instance when using file explorer, and copying stuff around. I want to be able to access folder quickly. The active group, is not good because is always. I just want to have more control sometimes.

    Many thanks.

  22. Tiago Silva says:

    Another idea.

Allow a group to be always at right. For instance i have a particular group, i want to be always right even if there are new apps opening on taskbar, the right-most is the one i defined on Taskbar Inspector.

  23. Riku says:

    Hi!

Opening with double click doesn’t work for me anymore on taskbar. I had that library error before 4.5.8.7 beta if that helps.

    Thanks again for great program.

  24. cheebase says:

    Beautiful! Thanks Ram!
I just about gave up on thumbnail organizing all together when a reference popped up on the virtues of 7+TT. Just a little tweak is all I need… 🙂
Instead of the current tick box at Drag to reorder, implement a radiobuttoned choice between this and the new Auto Reorder By Frequency Of Use (or something shorter). That way the most used thumbnail would be on the top of heap and as usage diminishes thumbnail rank would follow. All this in real time.
Oh, I can wait… a promise would be enough!
Thanks for the good work! Cheers!

  25. Tony says:

Love this taskbar tweaker. As a windows developer i have multiple tabs open for the same program and having small icons next to each other in the taskbar instead of grouped as one is soooo awesome. Thanks.
PS. You may want to look into adding this to PortableApps.com

  26. Ken says:

    Hi,
Thank you for such a great application!! I’ve tried searching but I can’t find an answer for my question. I hate grouping items and I keep a LOT of windows open. When everything is ungrouped, it’s easy to move a window to the left or right on the same row of windows. As you know, if I open up enough windows, a scroll bar will appear on the right side of the task bar and any new windows will be on a “new row” of windows. How do I move a window from the second row of windows to the first row of windows? Sometimes I can get it to happen by chance, but I don’t know how I am doing it. Thank you for your help!

    • Stamimail says:

      Same problem.

    • Hi,

7+ Taskbar tweaker has no features to solve this problem. The most relevant option is probably the “multipage_wheel_scroll” advanced option, which might help here, but I’m not sure and I cannot check at the moment.
Personally, I’m trying to avoid overflowing the taskbar, because built-in solutions like the multirow/multipage taskbar feel like second-class citizens in terms of usability.
Perhaps the virtual desktops feature of Windows 10 will provide a better solution for a large number of running tasks.

      • Stamimail says:

        Hi RaMMicHaeL,
I can’t test it, but maybe you can.
Can you check the possibility, to prevent the taskbar from being multipage, and allow the buttons to be narrowing. The height of each button will remain the same, but the width of the buttons will go and will narrow as a thin line (up to one pixel).
        Something like this:
        http://snag.gy/UHxHS.jpg
It would be especially good for those uses the Thumbnail Live Previews.
You can call it compressed taskbar.

    • Ken says:

      Hi again,
I figured out a solution to my own question. If you want to move a window from the second row of windows to the first row of windows, you can resize the task bar by moving it upwards and then the two rows of windows will now be on the same page. To do that, you position the mouse on an open space on the taskbar on the top line of the taskbar…you’re mouse will change into a double arrow. Click and drag the taskbar upwards. (I was not aware of this capability.) Then you just use taskbar tweaker to reposition the windows in the order you want. After that, you just resize the taskbar to it’s original one row and you’re done.

Thanks again for a great application!

  27. oreopa says:

    Hey!

    * Added a new advanced option, show_desktop_on_hover, which makes the taskbar to show desktop when a file is dragged over it (similar to Windows XP).

I specifically asked for this. It works perfectly with left or right button and I must say I’m very grateful.

    * Added the no_start_btn_spacing advanced option, which allows to control the spacing size when the start button is hidden.

I didn’t ask for this, but I did want it. 😀

With both those new options, I have removed the Show Desktop button and have just saved a precious ~50px on my vertical taskbar. This pleases me. 😉

    Thx a lot!

  28. Helkar says:

    Hello.

    Thanks for great application!
Is it possible to make windows be dragged within group with left mouse button?

    Thanks.

    Hi,

Since late last night my Bitdefender program has been blocking 7 Taskbar Tweaker from accessing a web resource every hour at 21 minutes past.

Here is a screencap of the message from my antivirus http://oi61.tinypic.com/radun8.jpg

I’d just like to check that this is a safe link for my PC, as it’s getting a little annoying to have a pop up once an hour to say that this has been blocked.

    Thanks!

Avast will not let me do anything with 7tt_setup.exe

  31. sludge7051-x says:

Hi Mike 🙂 . . . I did a week or two ago, when I got the first notification of a virus. What’s different in this version that triggers it?

    • Probably the whitelist exclusion they implemented for the previous version was too specific, and the little changes that were made in the new version caused it to be detected again.
In the end, the tweaker uses non-standarad techniques to modify the system, and that’s probably why it gets flagged.

  32. Stamimail says:

•The tweaker now prevents explorer from changing AppIDs of folder windows when the current AppID is a random AppID (random_group_xxxxxxxx).

    It works. Thanks.

  33. Ben Ryves says:

Thanks for this great application – unfortunately, the latest version (4.5.10) grumbles when loading: “7+ Taskbar Tweaker: Could not load library (111)”.

    I’m running 32-bit Windows 8.1 Pro Update 1 (6.3.9600).

Is there any way to revert to a previous version? 4.5.8 was working fine.

  34. Corpsecrank says:

Anyway I could talk you into adding a hotkey option for the disable_items_drag in advanced options? I have a game that overlaps the taskbar at 1440×1080 and I use this program to allow it to do so. The problem I have is that the only corner I can resize the game from (needed frequently) is in the bottom right of the game window directly over the tray. When I go to resize I accidentally grab tray icons and drag them off the bar and have to fix it. Being able to lock the drag would fix this but it is a pain to enable/disable all the time. If I could just hotkey that option I could use the hotkey to lock dragging while I play and this would be a tremendous help.

    • 1. disable_items_drag doesn’t affect tray icons at this time, only task list buttons.
      2. I think that you can find a better solution, e.g. writing a tiny program to automatically resize the window. I can help you with this if you’ll provide more details.

      • Corpsecrank says:

I already have a program to resize but the problem is that the graphics in the game have issues with that. I actually have to drag the window inward to the smallest size then stretch it back out to full with the program to resize it or the graphics get distorted.

Guess I will just have to wait until I can find a way to lock my tray icons out.

Try the latest beta version of the tweaker.

Wow man that’s perfect 🙂 Now I won’t have to mess around being so careful not to accidentally grab those icons.

This might actually be an even better solution to the problem than I originally thought since it is now independent of the disable drag for the rest of the taskbar giving us even more control over things.

Definitely cool man I will let you know if I have any issues or anything but this looks like it will work just fine. Thanks 🙂

When I set ‘Grouping – Don’t Group’, however I set ‘Drag within/between groups using right mouse button’ on.

In this setting condition, I do not group by default, however sometimes I want to grouping when I need similar tasks.

So, please support manual grouping even I turn the default grouping option off.

Is there a way to mimic the old setting where all application icons were “corralled” in an area to the left of a separator and all window icons were to its right? I use a two-line task bar and would like to have the application icons wrap to two lines on the left and the window icons wrap to two lines on the right. I don’t want anything grouped.

If this is unclear, please e-mail me and I can provide screen shots.

If your wonderful product isn’t capable of this, do you know of one that is?

    Thanks!

    Hi!
    Thanks for the app!
    There is one thing though:
My use case is such that i have a set of console utils that i restart time to time (one of them or full set at once, doesn’t matter) and i want them to be combined in one group. I do that by changing Application ID for all of them to be the same and it works, but after any of those is restarted – it loses previously redefined Application ID and therefore loses the grouping settings and gets kicked out of the group. So it kind of ruins the whole purpose of combining them.
Do you think there is a way to trick my utils to stay in one group?
I have one suggestion: what if user could define the pattern for Application ID to be grouped? Like in my case target apps all have the same path: C:\projectname\components\componentname.exe and if i would be able to combine everything that is under c:\projectname\ to go to the same group – it would basically sort things out. There is a need to some kind of watchdog perhaps so that 7+ would loop once in an interval through apps in TaskInspector, check if there is anything new there and if there is anything ungrouped according to the rule described above then apply grouping. Of course that kind of grouping can be under separate checkbox in settings.

Don’t know if you ever consider this feature request reasonable but if you will at some point – that would help me a lot.
    Thanks!

Hi, first I want to say thanks for the great program.

I just migrated from XP to 7. I used to use Vista transformation pack for my XP and I want to recreate that feeling as close as close possible in my new 7.

There’s only one thing that bothers me, can you make the start button transparent instead of just hiding it?

And more thing, the ‘clock’ has quite wide unused space around it, is it possible to trim the space?

    Thanks!

    • Hi,

can you make the start button transparent instead of just hiding it?

      Try the no_start_btn_spacing advanced option.

the ‘clock’ has quite wide unused space around it, is it possible to trim the space?

If you’re using small icons, try the tray_clock_fix_width advanced option.

Refer to the help file for more details.

      • wanttoask says:

        1. The clock option is working! I didn’t know you have this option, I think this option should be shown by default!

        2. No, I don’t want to make space for the missing start button. Instead of hiding it, I want to make it transparent if possible, but it’s ok if it’s not possible.

        Thanks again!

        • 2. No, I don’t want to make space for the missing start button. Instead of hiding it, I want to make it transparent if possible, but it’s ok if it’s not possible.

So you want it to be visible, but transparent? I guess it could be done by modifying the theme.

    Awesome app!
Is it possible to hide the labels for pinned apps when they are running? (so they look like they do when they are pinned and closed, except for the bubble highlighting?

    thanks!

Hi, I need to rearrange order of the Firefox taskbar thumbnails and webpages. I can drag the thumbnails and change the order to what I wish it to be, but Taskbar Inspector isnt saving the result. When I boot my computer, I have to change the order again. Is this a bug?

    • Hi,

First, the order of thumbnails has nothing to do with Taskbar Inspector, which displays buttons and groups.
Second, that’s not a bug, but a known limitation. The tweaker doesn’t remember the order of thumbnails, because there’s no way to identify them. Only Firefox knows e.g. which thumbnail is showing which webpage.

That’s something that has to be done in Firefox, as it controls the creation order of the thumbnails.

  41. Cyndi says:

    Hi,

Is there a way to get the taskbar inspector to remember which programs were grouped together even after the programs themselves are closed and then reopened?

  42. Andrew says:

I’d like to be able to force these apps to be grouped and combined on the taskbar automatically:

    C:\scriptWorker\appWorker.exe
    C:\scriptWorker2\appWorker.exe
    C:\scriptWorker3\appWorker.exe

I guess for this 7TT needs to either remember my options for “Change Applicatiod ID” for each application, or have the ability to automatically do that for applications with the same filename. Will it be possible at some point?

  43. j carerra says:

    Have started getting an error
    Could not load library (1001)

and hover over any taskbar item is showing the thumbnail regardless of how I have it set in tweaker. ??

    • That error means that the tweaker could not access the explorer process. That’s usually caused by an antivirus software, which prevents the tweaker from manipulating other processes. Try turning off your antivirus temporarily to see whether that’s the issue, and/or whitelisting the tweaker.

    • j carerra says:

I use Comodo CIS (AV+FW). I disabled both, but still get the error.

      • Have you tried adding the tweaker to the whitelist of the antivirus? I don’t know Comodo, but sometimes antiviruses have effect even when disabled.

        • j carerra says:

I added it to two “exclusions”–which I guess is the same as ‘whitelist’…one called a path exclusion, the other called an application exclusion.

          Still get the error.

Which ‘year’ of Visual C++ do you access? I will try to reinstall that in case it is corrupted.

          • Which ‘year’ of Visual C++ do you access? I will try to reinstall that in case it is corrupted.

If you’re talking about the Visual C++ run-time components, that’s not related. The error clearly means that the tweaker cannot allocate memory in the explorer process to initialize the injection, i.e. the VirtualAllocEx function fails, probably because of an access denied error.

The only reason I can think of for this is your antivirus. You might want to contact Comodo and ask them about it, specifying the information above.

        • j carerra says:

I reinstalled 7+ askbar Tweaker with Revo Uninstaller monitoring it, then did a complete uninstall with Revo. then reinstalled with Revo. Now it is running without throwing up the error at start.

Whatever was causing it got removed with the complete uninstall, so all is well now.

Hi, I have a question, not sure if I didn’t understand the way it works.

I was looking for a way to combine those icons in the taskbar. Specifically I’m using a batch file to open a program (foobar) with its own TEMP file, using the cmd commands for that. Already solved the problem with batch files not being pinned to taskbar with a batch compiler to EXE.

Anyway, my main problem is… if I run the program with the batch icon, obviously win creates a new icon for the real program in the task bar.

I have managed to merge both with the process inspector but it only works while the program is running. If I close it and run it again, the configuration is not saved.

Is there a way to tell the Tweaker to always change an specific process/program to another group/ID?

Like my example, merging always the foobar batch and the real program. Or putting opera.exe and firefox.exe in the same groups, etc. but applying that config automatically.

    Thanks!

Hey! I don’t know about you but I am using Windows Vista Ultimate SP2. I really want to use it but it says it can only work on windows 7 and above. Because windows vista is the same thing is there a way to trick it into working?

  46. Allan says:

I was forced into “updating” to Windows 8.1 and now I get an error code saying “Could not load library (102)”. Looks like the previous settings I had aren’t all there (for example, I’m getting those ugly jump menus instead of the old-style ones when right-clicking a program on the taskbar).

    Thoughts?

I have installed 7+ Taskbar tweaker on my Windows 7 machine, running in 64 bit. I am running W7 Ultimate and Avast Antivirus.
The program instals only in to AppData.Roaming.7+Taskbar Tweaker and nowhere else. It does not install on my PC program files of either kind (x86 and normal program file). And I am not trying to install the Portable version either.
Regedit only found one file and no sign of the program other than that, and that file was one of several (including the .exe file) that was in App data. roaming.
When I try to run it I am told I do not have permissions from the Administrator! I AM the administrator! I have tried running ‘as administrator’ but no joy.
Uninstall also fails. Even Revo cannot find the uninstall function, and it fails to uninstal it from the file location mentioned. Attempts to delete the fail; always fail saying that it is being used by ‘another program’ but I cannot find any trace of it.
I am open to ideas on 2 things.
    1. Why is this happening
    2. How can I successfully install and run this program?
System Restor also failed but did let me delete it.

Is there a command line switch to start 7+TT minimized?

It is really annoying to have to click on ‘close’ every time it starts.
I use it in portable mode and I like to have it running at all times so I can just invoke it from tray.

    Thanks.
