Brilliant, I’m not a techy but excellent help.

I use four screens and the top left has developed a black band on the top when I put a browser window to full screen, disabling access to tabs etc. The other 3 screens are unaffected, have taken a screenshot.

    Thanks Steve

  3. Carl says:

    Thanks for the reply Michael.
I have now fixed it. It was just the size of the show desktop button, all other options that I tested seemed to work okay. I was having problems with another program too which showed an error message when it started. This all occurred after a windows update as I mentioned.

I did a sfc and it repaired a file or two and after that and a couple of reboots all the problems were fixed.

    Hi!

    I’m just doing a proposal:

I usually work in multiple monitors, and when I’m in full screen on my main screen, it’s a bit of a pain to see the notifications, the action center or the background programs I have in the overflow there…
Could it be possible to duplicate this view for every screen?

    Thanks a lot!

You and your work are awesome!

  5. Matthias says:

    Hello,
are Windhawk and its mod-modules generally compatible with Win 11 ARM?
    Thanks!

  6. Michael Munteanu says:

    Hello there,

I can not install widnhawk_setup because I have an error saying:
“Error downloading archive: SendRequest Error httpL//ramensoftware.com/downloads/windhawk-compiler-1.07.z”

    Please help.

    Regards,
    Michael

    Hi Michael,
I just made a donation via PayPal so that I could get the 7+TT beta experimental support code. How long will it take before I can get that code to enable the 7+TT beta?
Thanks for all your great work!

  9. David says:

A canary build will remove the Windows 10 Taskbar.
Will this disable the current taskbar mods in Windhawk?

  10. Dmitry says:

    hi!

Thank you for the great product!

I’d like to propose a new features of taskbar inspector:
    1. “Do not show task” next to “Show labels”, “Group”, “Combine”
I usually switch to one task via designated hotkey only, so I really do not need to see it on the taskbar.
and that task wastes a TB space.
I was trying to find some app to do it, but without success.

    2. “Save/restore tasks order” next to sort group items
I have permanent nine chrome windows in one instance with 800 tabs.
From time to time explorer crushes and after restart all tasks keep their places, but chrome windows are not,
so I have to restart chrome to restore its windows positions
and chrome restart takes about 5 minutes to complete.

I hope you will find my propositions useful for 7tt

    Best wishes!
    Dmitry.

  12. Sgt says:

Is there a way to select multiple Taskbar Tabs? Kind of like in Chrome when you Ctrl + Click Tabs. So that you could group them together, move them, or close them.

Any insights are appreciated. Thanks, Cheers!

    Hi
After downloading the Taskbar height and icon size program

My toolbar icons are only showing half a icon how do I get them back to a full icon. Ok before

    Thanks for your help.

  14. Nick says:

Hello, after the latest update of windows 11 (KB5034123) the “Taskbar height and icon size” mod doesn’t work. Will there be any update?

  15. Kena says:

    Hi
I am on Win11 23H2. Windows update (KB5034123) 9 Jan 2024 broke Windhawk Taskbar Height and Icon size mod. Had to uninstall this update to be able to change Taskbar Height and Icon size.

  16. Santi says:

Hi! First of all, thank you for the amazing tweaks and mods you’ve made.
I’ve a suggestion for a rather simple (i think?) mod, I tried searching if it’s already been suggested, but I didn’t found it.

Would it be possible to hide from the taskbar the default windows icons? I’m specially looking to hide the volume icon.

I use an external program to control the volume across my apps (EarTrumpet), and it has its own volume icon, so I don’t want to have 2 of them.

Thank you and sorry if this is duplicated!

  17. Hi!
7+ Taskbar Tweaker is the most amazing and best software ever!
    Thank you!
I have donated to your Bitcoin address.
    From Japan with love

  18. Tweaker Fan says:

When 7+ Taskbar Tweaker is running (Windows 10), the Taskbar buttons are centered on the Taskbar. When I open a new program, the Taskbar buttons move to the left. When the program is closed, the buttons move again. This is irritating because I usually select Taskbar buttons from muscle memory.

How do I make the Taskbar buttons aligned to the left (the default) instead of centered?

  19. GEOVANE RIZZIERI says:

I have a suggestion for the taskbar: Previously, I used Windows 7 with the taskbar in a custom size (height) where 3 rows of fixed software shortcuts could fit, as I installed Mod Hawk, I increased the height, but only 1 row of shortcuts remained.

Would it be possible for you to include this number of rows function in a next update version? Or does this already exist here or in some other tweaker and I’m not yet aware of it? I recently migrated to Windows 11, I’m still getting to know the operating system and addons.

I have a mobility problem in my hand (RSI), and for me, the more visible the access to the software is, the fewer mouse clicks there will be, this makes my work easier, avoiding pain due to Repetitive Strain Injury – RSI.

It would be like comparing the Firefox bookmarks bar (from the past, in the beginnings of civilization) with the advent of Chrome posteriorly, where everything is hidden in menus and submenus making access difficult, instead of quick access, which is why I never used Chrome, and Firefox continues to have my favorites in rows in bookmarks bar as before, through changes I made when I found it on the internet.

Sorry if my English is bad, my language is Italian, I used Google Translator, I hope you understood.

  20. Karen Grube says:

All I want to do is disable the windows taskbar thumbnails completely. They obscure the lower part of a web page or program and I’d like to disable them. Nothing I’ve tried works except turning off all thumbnails which turns them off for my desktop as well. I’ve tried extending the hover time and that didn’t really work either.

  21. NS says:

Windhawk mod Taskbar Clock Customization stopped working, and I think it happened after the most recent Windows 10 update, April 23, 2024—KB5036979 (OS Build 19045.4355).

    • Indeed, there’s a problem with mods that rely on Microsoft debug symbols, refer to the Windhawk and symbol download errors blog post for details. As a temporary workaround, I updated most mods to be compatible with Windows 10 version 19045.4291 and some Windows 11 versions. It would be possible to apply a similar fix for 19045.4355, but I need a computer with this version and Windhawk mods already installed for that, and I don’t have one. If you have such a computer, please let me know.

  22. John Dean says:

You are a gentleman and a scholar. Thank you for Windhawk and your mods. I am once again productive in Windows 11 because of you. Specifically, I use Taskbar thumbnail reorder, Cycle taskbar buttons with mouse wheel, and Chrome/Edge scroll tabs with mouse wheel. I donated for 7+ Taskbar Tweaker and will donate again for Windhawk and your mods. Thank you.

  23. Kasin says:

The version 1.4.1 somehow causes office applications to fail to start.

I’ve used Windhawk for over one year, and everyting worked well untill recently I found that I cannot start my office applications. After eliminating all other possibilities, I found that when Windhawk is opened (even without any mods on), office cannot work normally, and when I exit Windhawk, it returns normal. Is this a bug or something? It seriously affects the normal use of my computer. Thanks!

    Hello,
I love your project so much, that I wanted to contribute. I have created a translation to Czech language for Windhawk.

    Path:
    “C:\Program Files\Windhawk\UI\resources\app\extensions\windhawk\webview\locales\cz\translation.json”
    Translation:

I hope that it works well for you 😊

  25. Bailey says:

    Hi there,

I just want to inform you, that since that latest update MS Office word, excel etc. do not start when activating “Disable grouping on the taskbar”.

  26. wookie says:

So I found a bug. After deleting a pinned (let’s use this term inprecisely) shortcut from taskbar, icon stays. Trying to delete it again, does nothing productive. Going to folder with these shortcuts also is of no help. What I have to do, is to totally quit taskbar tweaker, and then use windows option unpin, that’s unavailable while 7tt is on

  27. Stefan says:

Hello Michael, thank you so much for the 7+ Taskbar Tweaker !

finally free movement of tasks again. I could cry with joy 🙂

    i just send a $20 donation 😉

    Best Regards
    Stefan

  28. Andrew Hahn says:

Any thoughts on multimonitor support for Windhawk Taskbar Styler? Could be beneficial to duplicate the system tray on to 2nd & 3rd monitors. Giving those taskbars the ability to independently customize as well as pinning appz to those taskbars separately from the main monitor. 👏

    • Thanks for the feedback. Windows 11 Taskbar Styler is about taskbar style, such as colors, element sizes and positions. You’re suggesting new functionality – duplicating the system tray and pinning apps on secondary taskbars – which is out of scope for Windows 11 Taskbar Styler and is not trivial to implement. I’ll take the suggestions into account, but if they’ll ever be implemented, by me or by somebody else, those will be separate mods.

      • Andrew says:

Correct, I was. Functionality that msft may never finish. Didn’t you dev the Start Menu Styler and Notification Center Styler too? Didn’t seem like that much of a stretch but either way no worries mate.
Guess this was the only idea within the scope – “Giving those taskbars the ability to independently customize”

  29. dbls says:

I’m having difficulty installing taskbar thumbnail reorder on my new Windows 11 machine. When I try it, I get the message “Compilation failed.” Installing Taskbar Volume Control was successful.

    I currently have Windows 11 Version 23H2 (22631.4169).

  30. dbls says:

I just found the compiler_errors.log file. It has two entries:

C:\ProgramData\Windhawk\EditorWorkspace\mod.wh.cpp:146:9: error: unknown type name ‘WH_DISASM_RESULT’
    WH_DISASM_RESULT result;
    ^
C:\ProgramData\Windhawk\EditorWorkspace\mod.wh.cpp:183:9: error: unknown type name ‘WH_DISASM_RESULT’

  31. andrew jones says:

firstly what a fantastic utility. thanks.

secondly i notice that the MODS have to be downloaded from the net by the main package. is there any way i can save the MODS locally in case i am without an internet connection?

    thanks

    • Yes, you can save them. It’s not as convenient as as just installing them with one click, but you can either go to the mod’s “Source Code” tab, right click on it, and choose “Copy”, or grab the mods you want (or all of them) from the windhawk-mods repository.

Then, when you want to use the code to install the mod, click the bottom right button in Windhawk to create a new mod, replace the code with the code you saved or downloaded, click “Compile Mod”, then “Exit Editing Mode”.

      • andrew jones says:

thanks. that worked perfectly. your instructions are clear and concise.

i installed the main program during SETUP as a PORTABLE version and then followed your instructions.

it worked perfectly and helps avoid the need to be ONLINE

        🙂

  32. Carl Jahn says:

Just and FYI. If you are using 7tt on Windows 11 with explorerpatcher, be aware that the lastest EP update – 22621.4317.67.1 breaks 7tt. Going back to 22621.3880.66.6. restores 7tt functionality.

  33. John C. says:

Tried to install version 5.15.2 of 7+ Taskbar Tweaker as portable, but the option to do so didn’t show up during the installation. Had to uninstall the program.

    • If 7+ Taskbar Tweaker is already installed using a non-portable installation, then a portable installation isn’t offered when you try to update/reinstall it. You can either uninstall it first like you did, or run the installer with the /portable command line switch.

  34. John C. says:

Michael, thanks for replying. No, I didn’t already have the program installed. The option to install as portable didn’t show upduring the initial installation, which I followed through with in the hope that the option would appear later during the process. It didn’t.

  35. John C. says:

The first time I tried to install the program, that option simply was not there. I was very, very careful to look for it. I just reinstalledh tperogram and there the option was. I don’t know why this happened, but I’m very, very sure this was the case. Regardless, it’s now installed as a portable program, so I’m happy. 80)>

I’m running V1.5.1 and whenever I reboot my windows 11 the start menu is full open. I don’t see any settings that are causing this. Has anyone experienced this issue?

  38. Im Baked says:

Hello how’s it going? Just wanted to say thanks for this fantastic windows app! Windhawk, I’m pretty much just using it right now to change the Windows 11 Taskbar fonts and the clock fonts. I have Taskbar Clock Customization and Windows 11 Taskbar Styler mods installed and can change the default fonts no problem. On the Clock Customization there is an option to make the font bold, but on the Taskbar Styler there is no option to make the font bold. Is there anything I can add to the “Advanced Mod settings” to make the font bold on the taskbar? Thanks again for any help!

  39. Passerby says:

A forced rollout of Windows 11 at work had sent me within inches of giving my IT department the finger and setting up a Linux laptop on our network. Windhawk’s reimplementation of a WORKING TASKBAR (in never-combine buttons mode) saved the day and probably saved me from years of misery maintaining my own IT stack. I threw a few bucks your way; your valiant efforts to protect us from Microsoft’s insistence on footgunning itself for years on end has not gone unnoticed!
