7 Taskbar Tweaker v2.1, ready to be translated
Here’s v2.1 of 7 Taskbar Tweaker, which supports multiple languages. What’s left to do now is to translate it 🙂
If you are interested, you can use any resource editor for the job (note that both the exe and the dll have texts), and I’ll officially integrate it in the next version.
Also in this version:
- A several-times-requested feature to open pinned items with double click to avoid accidental clicking.
- The tweaker is now compatible with Dexpot‘s SevenDex feature. Note that if you use the Don’t group tweaker option, force SevenDex’s Application ID to group for the thumbnails to show up correctly.
- The installer works on Windows Server 2008 R2. I did not actually test the tweaker on this OS, but I’ve heard it works, so here you go.

Wow, I just sent you an email that I can translate it into Swedish. I didn’t know that the latest version I downloaded was released like 5 minutes ago 🙂
Middle-click to close an application in the toolbar is great. It made me try the same thing on Firefox tabs – and it works! Never knew that. Absolutely brilliant!
Thanks a lot, love your tool, and I might be the first user of v2.1… 😉
Thanks a lot! The tool is getting better and better
Hi,
Thanks for your dev efforts.
How about making Taskbar Tweaker able to save Windows tray icon status (selectively show/hide)?
Regards.
Isn’t there such a feature in windows?
I want to translate to Turkish. With pleasure, I will.
Will be a perfect translation. Other versions translated for me.
Let me try and translate in into Dutch 🙂
How can I close the taskinspector window?
Click outside taskbar inspector
Hey there, if you could listen to my request , can you make a end process function please ? many programs get stuck and the task manager takes a lot of time to load …. if you have time.
I’ll be glad to translate it into Spanish.
I’ll begin right away.
Spanish translation done. How can I send it to you?

Translation to Swedish done – you’ve got mail!
Thanks again for this awesome tool 🙂
I have a feature suggestion. You know how on google chrome closing many tabs one after another is a breeze? Well, it’s because after I close one tab next one takes its place and the does not resize for a while, which allows to just click-click-click – easy closing of tabs.
Well, those aero thumbnails don’t do anything to close them easier. I often open more than 5 explorer windows while working, so when I finally decide to clean up a bit, the whole thing re-centers after I close each window in the group. Is it possible to make thumbnails to stay in place (or even better – slide to the position of the just closed window) for a while? It’s terribly frustrating to pixel-hunt those red crosses 🙁
Here is some screenshots to illustrate my point:

I’ll look at it, though it doesn’t seem to have an easy solution.
Meanwhile, note that Taskbar Inspector allows you to easily select and close multiple windows at once.
I can’t seem to get TaskbarTweaker to work for me. Maybe I am doing something wrong?
I downloaded and installed the program.
Launched it
Checked “Disable thumbnail preview on mouse hover”
Selected Show Desktop for Double Click on Empty space
Testing:
When I mouse over a taskbar icon I do indeed just get text. But what I was hoping is that when I clicked on the icon I would not get thumbs (as with XP). if you have a lot of windows open (which I often do) the thumbs are just as annoying when you click the icon as when you just hover over it. So, short question, can the thumbs be disabled when you click on a taskbar icon?
When I click on Empty Space (some place on the desktop), nothing happens. All the windows that are currently open, stay open. CTRL ALT TAB does work, however.

There’s a registry option for it.

You are the first one to report such issue.
I can’t really help here because I can’t reproduce it.
