I have recently installed four five utilities for explorer. After installing, Tab option has disappeared in Window Explorer. Can you guide me so that I may disable that utility.
The only Windhawk mod I can think of that might be relevant is:
https://windhawk.net/mods/explorer-frame-classic
If it’s not it, then perhaps it’s a different mod or a different tool. It’s easy to check it with Windhawk, just disable all mods and restart Explorer just in case.
Hello,
When I enter a value other than 0 for “tray_icons_padding”, the first 2 icons from the right disappear. I think there is a bug. I would be glad if you could look into it.

Hi, what’s your version of 7+ Taskbar Tweaker? What’s your version of explorer.exe?
The version I am using is v5.15.2.
I installed v5.15.2.2 today but the error persists.
The version of “explorer.exe” is 10.0.19041.5553
Should be fixed in v5.15.3, let me know if it works for you.
The problem has been resolved. Thank you.

Is it possible to use an older Explorer in Win11 with the “Fake Explorer path” mod?
If I have Win10 LTSB on a seperate drive, can I use the Explorer from it as a File manager in Win11? (I don’t care about the Taskbar, Start Menu, etc…).
It doesn’t have to be the default FM either, as long as it works…
I don’t know, I haven’t tried it and I’m not the author of the Fake Explorer path mod. You might want to contact the author and ask them.
Hello,
I just updated 7+ Taskbar Tweaker on Windows 7 on version 5.15.3 , but this version totally breaks the program, all options are gray and the program not working at all.
It will be better, that we can download older versions somewhere. I had lucky, I found previous version 5.15.2 on MajorGeeks.
Thank you in advance, and hope, that this issue is solvable.
Hi,
Please provide more details. What’s the error that you’re getting with version 5.15.3?
Chyba

7+ Taskbar Tweaker: Nelze načíst knihovnu (102)
The library version doesn’t match, try to reinstall the tweaker.
It means in english, Unable to load library (102) .
Here is the screenshot https://i.postimg.cc/Y2yPH0sM/obrazek.png .
Have you tried what the message suggests? “try to reinstall the tweaker”.
The mismatch can happen if, for some reason, one of the files can’t be replaced during the update.
Yes, that worked. Now I tried update 5.15.2 again and now worked without any error. So, if everyone try update first, it ends with this error.
Ok, some update, it doing some of my setting. I tried set version 5.15.2 first for my settings, and then after update on 5.15.3 I had same error.
I’m not sure I understand, are you saying that you tried to update again (on a different computer?) and got the same error? I don’t know why the file can’t be replaced, perhaps because of an antivirus. Again, try installing the latest version of the tweaker again, it should solve it.
Yes, on the same computer. And now I found the settings which breaks the program after update.
After install 5.15.2 I just only set grouping on Don’t group and then try update on 5.15.3 . Viola, that setting break program after update.
I don’t think that option is relevant to the file being locked. I just updated the tweaker from 5.15.2 to 5.15.3 without this problem, and this option was enabled.
I tried another Windows 7 machine, and after set Don’t group setting it did the same error. Strange.
On Windows 10 machine too https://i.postimg.cc/CKqvSs9g/obrazek.png .
I saw it on one of my computers. I don’t think it’s related to one of the tweaker options and I can’t think of a recent change that caused it, I wonder if something was changed in Windows. I’ll try to come up with a solution.
I added retry logic to the installer. I didn’t bump the version since everything is the same except for the installer. You can download the new installer and test it. Please let me know if you’re still getting the error with the new installer.
From update notification in Windows taskbar I still have the error, but from download new installer from this website (this one https://ramensoftware.com/downloads/7tt_setup.exe ) it’s fixed I think (tried update version 5.15.2 four times and no error) 🙂 .
Sometimes I have this error from the .exe installer https://i.postimg.cc/3whwd5gt/screenshot-89.png . But Retry button works everytime and program successfully updated.
Maybe that’s because the old version is still cached and served. You can make sure it’s the new version with the file size of the setup file:
With the fix: 1,863,136 bytes
Without the fix: 1,861,632 bytes
Yes, it was maybe still old version, I restarted computer and now it serving the new version (no error) 🙂 . Thank you for the quick fix.
Hey, 7+ Taskbar Tweaker v.5.14.2
I get occasional explorer crashing with all previously opened File Explorers closed.
Hi, first of all please update to the latest version, v5.15.3.
will it fix the crashing?
You’ll find out after you update. Let me know.
Im letting you know that I just had another crash, after ive updated it with all opened file explorer windows closed again
Is this with the latest version of the tweaker? If so, please post a crash dump. You should be able to get it with the following steps:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Error Reporting
LocalDumps
DumpType
with value 2%LocalAppData%\CrashDumps
folder, you should see a dump file in thereSent to NLT Software:
Well folks, I’m going to let you off the hook because I don’t believe you have a clue. I did some further testing and like I mentioned “Windhawk” (which didn’t show up in my start group) by Stardock, was stopping your programs cold. Probably injecting code where your programs want to run. You might want to put that up on your community boards for all to see. Lots of people like to change how Win 10 & 11 look and use various programs to make the change, but graphically these programs can stomp all over other programs. So “Nadia” and “Genesis” are working again and not just in safe mode. Stardock is a bunch of programmers feeding a program with their modes, so I doubt you can get around that wild west.
Peace,
Mr.T
Hi, I understand it’s about incompatibility of Windhawk with games. Indeed, some games conflict with Windhawk. A couple of notes regarding this:
BTW, Windhawk isn’t related to Stardock.
Michael,
Thanks for your reply. Stardock, Ramen, Windhawk, all so confusing, modes and getting pushed to community forums with 100’s of incorrect responses. Reminds me of my early days in the 70’s IT Industry and dealing with group programmers. When I can’t get an answer to a simple question, I know it’s time to look elsewhere. Windhawk left much to be desired and some of it’s functions didn’t really work. Having a search function that didn’t really search was one of the last straws for me. Modes are good and bad, as they can cripple a program. To really understand a program like Windhawk and a few others you need to be C++ educated, and that is not your everyday user. I have a job and don’t have time to invest in learning another programming language. So like any business person I have moved on to a program that’s a little overkill for my needs, but written in a language I can understand, and where I can have a one-on-one conversation with a single person. “Actual Transparent Windows” Not a bunch of flashy modes, just things that makes your OS function and it doesn’t brake any of my games. Not free, but neither was Windhawk. Again Michael, thanks for your reply.

I’m loving Windhawk.
On the apps that are open in the taskbar, the right click button only opens the right click menu for a brief second then it collapses. However when I click on the Windhawk right click menu, it stays open.
Hi, a similar issue was reported here:
https://github.com/ramensoftware/windhawk-mods/issues/1640
It’s probably an incompatibility with one of the recent updates. I’ll take a look when I have time.
tried to make 2 rows of icons, closer, small, and spacing; does not work on my new win 11 latest.
An incompatibility with recent Windows 11 preview builds was fixed recently. Please update taskbar-related mods to the latest version. After updating, you might have to restart to have the fix applied.
Hi, pals
Windhawk in Portuguese (Brazil) brings the word “configuration” misspelled (with a non-existent “s”).
Cheers
Hi, thanks for reporting. I believe that the typo was fixed here:
https://github.com/ramensoftware/windhawk-translate/commit/871ea702a35f850f2b7f675d17daae35019543ec
Let me know if that’s the one you meant. It will be fixed in the next Windhawk update.
